The hearing evaluation is an in-depth assessment of an individual’s hearing and serves as the baseline in our patient treatment. The purpose of this evaluation is to determine the degree of the hearing loss, or the nature of the hearing problem, as well as to devise the best treatment options that could include hearing aids, surgery or medication.

Pure Tone Audiometry: This hearing test determines hearing sensitivity. In this test, tones are presented at different pitches and the patient is asked to identify what sounds they can hear. This test also establishes the threshold at which a person can hear.

Tympanometry: This measures the mobility of the eardrum as air pressure is decreased or increased in the ear canal.

Acoustic Stapedius Reflexes: This test identifies the functionality of the acoustic reflex arc.

Otoscopy: Visual inspection of the external ear, the auditory canal, and the eardrum

Assisted Living/On Site Services

Assured Audiology & Hearing Solutions recognizes the importance of acute hearing, particularly as we get older. We also understand that many senior citizens and assisted living residents find it difficult to be as mobile as they’d like.

So we have devised a schedule of regular visits to nursing homes, senior living, independent living and assisted living facilities throughout our service area in Southern Wake, Western Wake, Northern Harnett, Lee and Chatham Counties.

At these community visits, we are able to conduct basic hearing screenings and some types of hearing aid adjustments and repairs, as well as answer questions and provide information about hearing loss, hearing aids, and other related topics. If more advanced services and procedures are needed, we can schedule an appointment in our Fuquay-Varina office at the convenience of our senior living patients.
